FAQ

  • Yes! I am accepting new clients seeking therapy. If you’re interested in working with me, please book a 15-minute consultation with me to ensure that we would be a good fit.

  • Congratulations on taking this step in your healing journey! Trauma therapy may sound intimidating, and to be honest, it can be hard work. But, experiencing embodied healing from your trauma is so rewarding. While I will ask about your history and family of origin during our intake process, you are not expected to share the details your painful past experiences right away. It’s important that we establish trust, safety, and rapport first. Over time, we’ll utilize experiential and somatic modalities to address your trauma with care. Trauma therapy tends to be long-term work and it is not a process we can rush. Know that as your therapist, I am alongside you on this journey!

  • This varies from person to person, but trauma therapy generally takes time. I suggest meeting once weekly for at least 12 weeks. This allows us to build rapport and get to the deeper trauma work quicker. After 12 weeks, we can reassess frequency of our sessions together, and I will regularly check-in with you to ensure that we’re moving at a pace that aligns with your needs.

  • That’s okay! You are never under a contract with me and you can terminate services with me at any time, for any reason. If issues that are outside of my scope of practice arise, I will provide you with treatment options and referrals of therapists who are specialized in that area, and I am always happy to do a warm hand-off to your new provider.

  • Insurance companies require a diagnosis and treatment plan, and often only cover therapy for a certain amount of time. By taking the private pay route, I am able to provide prolonged trauma therapy services without a DSM-V-TR diagnosis.

  • I believe therapy and mental health services should be accessible to everyone. I have limited sliding scale availability. You can find more information on my fees here.

  • Yes, I offer virtual sessions to folks residing in the state of Texas and in-person sessions to folks located in Austin.

  • Unfortunately, since I am only licensed in the state of Texas, I am unable to provide therapy to folks residing outside of Texas. However, depending on what type of care you’re looking for, I can work with non-Texas residents as a life coach. Please refer to my coaching website for more information. If you are specifically looking for/ needing a therapist, I will do my best to connect you with therapists who are local to you.

  • I do not provide crisis services! I have a resource list linked here. I typically respond to messages within 24-48 business hours. If you are having a true emergency, please call 911 or 988.
